| The savoury one looks scrummy. The coconut one, not so much. Sounds a little too sweet. | |

| Oo, savory. That first one looks like cornbread. But the ingredients alone makes my mouth water. | |

| You can have a sweet or savory Impossible Pie. These are off the net but first one doesn't look like it layers out. http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/6196/impossible+coconut+pie http://allrecipes.com.au/recipe/3875/impossible-pie.aspx http://recipes.coles.com.au/recipes/657/savoury-impossible-pie/ You really could let your imagination go wild. I had a work mate give me a recipe 20 years ago and I had never heard of them. A friend then said, yep and you can do a savory as well. | |

Could have a ball with that recipe for sure, thanks. If it's an epic fail, at least you didn't have to put in a lot of time to make it. I don't think I've heard of impossible pies. If they're as easy as chocolate cobbler, I'm game... ...After several months of weight loss. *kicks chair* - cathy c wrote:

That much sugar blows my head off. You know it's too sweet when you have to eat ice cream with it to cut the sweetness. Even with just using 1 1/2 sticks of butter, there were a few little pools of it at the bottom of the dish. That tells me you can afford to cutback on the butter by another tablespoon or a few. Rich is one thing; excessive is another.

| This is a southern dessert thrown together in no time. And it's budget friendly, since it's made with ingredients considered staples in most homes.
It's fun for little kids, because the chocolate you put on top ends up on the bottom with a pudding-like consistency.
Below is the basic recipe, then you'll find tweaks to two ingredients.
2 sticks (16 Tablespoons) of Butter* 1 1/2 cups Self-Rising Flour 2 1/2 cups sugar** (separated) 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract 3/4 cups Milk 6 tablespoons Cocoa 2 cups hot Water
Preheat oven to 350F. Melt butter in 9X13 pan.
Mix flour, half the sugar, vanilla, and milk. Pour over melted butter in pan. Do not stir. Mix cocoa and the rest of the sugar. Sprinkle over top. Do not stir. Gently pour water over the top. Do not stir.
Bake for approximately 30 minutes. It goes well with ice cream.
*Butter- 2 sticks (16 Tablespoons) is overkill. I cut it back to 1 1/2 sticks (12 Tablespoons) last time. Although Hubs is a fan of the extra butter, I'll try 1 1/4 sticks next time.
**Sugar- I cut this back to 1 cup in the flour mixture and 3/4 cup in the cocoa mix. Many like the original measurements, but it's too sweet to me.
